Castle Farm is a picturesque development of holiday cottages and glamping accommodations between Ellesmere and Oswestry in North Shropshire. After a busy day, relax in the hot tub after exploring the local area to your heart's content.
Despite being located in the countryside, this property is very close to civilization. There is a pub 1.5 miles away and a great supermarket 2 miles away in St Martins with petrol stations, electric car charging points, post offices, cafes, a garden centre, and florists.
Castle Farm has 2 semi-detached cottages that sleep 4-5 people, with one cottage being wheelchair-accessible. The cottages each have a hot tub on their private patios. In addition to four cosy wooden pods with private hot tubs, we also offer a charming shepherd's hut - all with electricity, the usual 'caravan-style' mod-cons and the use of our smart and modern shower block.
One of the most scenic canals in the country is the 46-mile Llangollen Canal. You can cycle along the towpath for eight miles to reach Chirk, (provided you have an athletic dog), where you will find a 13th-century castle nestled among 480 acres of parkland owned by the National Trust.
Towpath walks with dogs are a genuine delight; proximity to water and canal banks, however, this does mean your dog will need to be under control at all times to avoid cyclists, fields with animals, steep banks, and wildfowl!
With the canal system to the South and the West and the River Dee to the North, there is plenty of opportunity to take the exercise and fresh air we all so often crave.
A decent trail walk is mapped below, close to Castle Farm.
There are many beaches around this area, and, as you can see, they make ideal spots to exercise your dog; Sandymouth Bay is another example.
There are endless walks along the coast, both North and South and they can occupy a great deal of your day. The beaches are a major attraction, but this and inland offer great walking opportunities with your dogs. Bude is only 3 miles North, and taking a circular route can be a great way to get that fresh air and exercise.
The route to the right is just a suggestion, but many walks are available.
